Normally, large volumes of gases can be stored in large storage tanks through multi-stage compression at dangerously high pressures. Alternatively, similar or even higher volumes of gases can be stored at much lower pressures simply by filling the storage tanks with activated carbon of high surface area and high micropore volume. Gases such as methane, CO2 and nitrogen are commonly stored in activated carbon storage vessels, which can then be easily desorbed at low pressure whenever required.
SpaceBlack Adsorbents provides high surface area grades of granular activated carbon derived from coconut shell charcoal suitable for storage of various gases.
