Vehicle manufacturers are required to combat the issue of gasoline vapour emissions from vehicle engines. Evaporative Loss Control Device (ELCD) is used to prevent these emissions. Highly mesoporous activated carbons which have high gasoline adsorption capacities, low density and optimum granular size are filled in ELCD canisters to capture the vapour emissions which are then released back into the fuel system.
