Pressure Swing Adsorption is a very common method of continuous gaseous separation which works on the principle of using two adsorption columns alternatively by selective adsorption of one or more gas component over another at high pressures. This system is often used in refineries, chemical and food processing industries to provide localized generation of critical gases. Activated carbon is preferably used in PSAs especially for processes such as continuous separation of hydrogen (produced from methane or steam reforming process), nitrogen, oxygen, etc. from organic hydrocarbons.
SpaceBlack Adsorbents provides customized grades of granular and pelletized activated carbon derived from coconut shell charcoal and coal suitable for PSA systems.
