Glycerine is used in the manufacturing of food products, cosmetics and chemicals. It is obtained from vegetable and animal fats and oils. In the production of glycerine, activated carbon is used in the primary stage of crude glycerine production to reduce bulk colour and fatty acids and in the final stages for removal of trace colour and odour as well as for ageing control and tabilisation of final product.
